She obtained her bachelor’s degree in Commerce, major in Accounting from the University of Santo Tomas and her Master’s Degree from the Ateneo Graduate School of Business. Her more than forty (40) years experience in the accounting profession enabled her to earn extensive experience in auditing and management reviews which includes financial and compliance audit, operation and systems review, fraud audit, due diligence review, organizational analyses, design and installation of accounting information systems, etc.
She has serviced clients of various industries which include utilities, pharmaceuticals, hotels, hospitals, cooperatives, agri-business, real estate, manufacturing, wholesale/retail trade, construction contractors, security services, banks, lending companies, insurance, educational institutions/schools, restaurants, foreign aid funded programs, non-profit organization, etc. She underwent an extensive on the job training at the Coopers and Lybrand International in Detroit, Michigan, USA for 1½ years. She is an active member of the Philippine Institute of Certified Public Accountants (PICPA) and the Association of CPAs in Public Practice (ACPAPP). She was chair of the ACPAPP Committee on Accounting and Auditing Standards and Practices in 2009. She was a member of the Board of Directors of ACPAPP and Liaison Director of the Publications Committee in 2014 and 2015.
In 2016, she was a member of the Board of Trustees of the ACPAPP Foundation. She was a member of the National Technical Working Group Review Workshop on the Development of Standard Chart of Accounts for Multi-Purpose Cooperatives sponsored by the Cooperative Development Authority (CDA) held in November, 2005. Further, she was a volunteer evaluator of the Philippine Council for NGO Certification (PCNC) from 2003 up to 2010. She was a member of the Committee on Public Bidding of PICPA for the fiscal year 2020-2021 and Secretary of the same Committee for the fiscal year 2021-2022. Currently, she is a member of the Auditing and Assurance Standards Council (AASC) for the years 2018 to 2023.
